School Health Project

Investing in Child and Adolescent Health

through schools as a platform

THE PROBLEM

Children from socio-economically disadvantaged families in Bangalore’s Anekal region lack access to necessary sanitation and health care facilities. Moreover, government schools lack the necessary infrastructure and systems to ensure that children access appropriate adolescent health care. As a result, children are vulnerable to high morbidity, further depriving them of development.

OUR ACTION

We organise school children in health clubs, promote health awareness and nutritional practices along with building the capacities of teachers and training them in health literacy. Children undergo various interactive sessions where they learn positive health practices as part of their school curriculum.
