Life skills are an important aspect of being able to meet the demands of everyday life in a continuously changing world. Education, the job, and our personal lives have all been affected by the significant changes that have occurred around the world over the years.
Young girls require new life skills, such as the ability to deal with stress and frustration, to cope with the growing pace and change of life. In accordance with wanting the girls to be well versed with the pressures, they face in society.
Our CIF team was joined by 95 girls who were eager to learn and were all trained. We organised a life skill training session, where all the girls were given a ‘life skill’ book from which they could learn about at least 10 life skills that they needed to know.
Our team reinforces these beliefs in their psyche by playing role play games, such as a group of girls acting out being coerced into marrying early while being under the age of consent, and then having to say no and battle the injustice in the play.
These role-playing games reinforce the importance of saying no to harmful practices like child marriage and standing up for what is right.
In total 95 girl group leaders had been trained on 10 life skills through games, role-plays and serious group and individual discussions
